About the event
The Brave Kind women's retreats are centered on two pillars I hold dear: courage and compassion. Through intimate group conversations, facilitated workshops and activities, and holistic healing methods like yoga and sound therapy, we will help you strengthen your heart and solar plexus energy. Learn to spread more kindness and boldly pursue your dreams, whether that's as simple as navigating difficult conversations or as big as starting a new career.
Friday begins with a welcome circle and introductions and will include a cozy campfire, weather permitting. Everyone will settle in early for an exciting Saturday filled with learning, movement and connection! We'll start the day in the 600-square foot studio overlooking the cattle pasture. After a heartfelt and funny conversation about courage - how to find it, how to build it, what we fear and why we hold on to it - we'll move into a yoga practice to build bravery. The afternoon begins with a discussion on compassion and why it's so important, not just to connect friends and communities, but to silence the inner critic who tries to squash our dreams. The most compassionate act of the day will be resting in stillness to receive a sound bath from your host, Christy. The evening dinner will create additional bonding time, as will the campfire circle and S'Mores. Sunday offers an optional farm tour, but you are welcome to sleep in and grab breakfast at your leisure. We'll close in a circle before everyone heads home renewed with confidence and kindness.
The retreat includes all meals, made with fresh, local produce and meats, all wellness activities, and a carefully curated gift bag, including a signed copy of my memoir, Strong Roots, Wayward Soul. There will be plenty of free time to explore the property (and maybe even feed the chickens or cows)! Our twenty-acre hobby farm is set deep in the heart of cattle country, with just a handful of homes dotting the landscape. Find your escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, and enter a world where you can truly unplug.

Single cot in White Duck Outdoor regatta tent. 5" memory foam mattress on Coleman cot. Lamps, fans, rug, and other creature comforts provided. Tents are shared with one other person. If you don't have a buddy coming, no worries! We will play matchmaker for roommates with similar interests. All glamping tents share a composting toilet outhouse. All lodging tickets include the Brave Kind retreat activities, all meals, and gift bag, including an autographed copy of Christy's book.
